I once again I forgot to take before pictures of the latest end table I refinished…how frustrating!!!  Anyway, it was a dingy brown colour, and in definite need of a make-over.

I painted the base white and gave it some distressing in areas so that the fine details on this piece would ‘pop’.  I love the original hardware, so I did not change that up….and I really like the metals tips on the leg of this table (check out the photo below for a close up).  For the top of the table , I sanded it down to the natural wood, and then tried a much darker stain on it then any I have used so far….do you like it?  Or do you find it too dark for the light base?

When I distressed this piece, as opposed to sanding which I most often do, I used a paint scraper to achieve this chippy look.
